Gisenyi Acrobats do not only use their skills and talent to spread joy and happiness to their audiences around the world, they also use it as a tool for sustainable development in Rwanda.
Through their children group they can transmit ideas of cooperation, friendship, responsibility and communication. Acrobatics is a perfect tool for practicing this. To build a human pyramid you need to trust each other and overcome fear trough friendship. Learning skills like gymnastics is possible trough training but also by good coaching by the young leaders who believe in the power of children.
Every trick learnt is first of all trough laughter and love and if a child gets someone who believe in her she develop her self-confidence and self esteem and learn that everything is possible. The Gisenyi Acrobats is a real living example of how the power och friendship and hard work together can change the life situation for the vulnerable children.
